One year ago, Rabindranath Tagore's birthday was celebrated. The Petit Palais presents 85 of his paintings and drawings.

 Rabindranath Tagore (1861-1941), the author of the Indian national anthem, is also famous for being the first non-Western writer to be awarded the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1913.Eclectic, abundant and plentiful, his work constitutes a vital artistic link between India and the rest of the world: through his paintings, which are inspired by a profound humanism, Tagore appeals to the whole world and still inspires the most modern artists in India today...
