Abstract:
La calligraphie comme instrument politique : l'impératrice douairière Cixi 慈禧 (1835-1906) a - pendant sa régence de 48 années sur les empereurs Tongzhi 同治 (1856-1875) et Guangxu 光绪 (1875-1909) - laissé un grand nombre d'oeuvres calligraphiques. Son "impériale" calligraphie était offerte aux officiels importants comme cadeau de Nouvel An ou lors de ses anniversaires. Elle suivait en cela la longue tradition de ses prédecesseurs : en effet, l'heureux récipiendiaire se devait de répondre avec gratitude, exprimant ainsi sa loyauté à l'égard du régime
